About Me
I was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 2. For many years, I was put in the ‘too hard basket’ by schools and services, exhibiting many ‘challenging behaviors’ on an almost daily basis. My family was exhausted and there was little hope for my future.
Today I live in my own home, I have held long-term paid roles as a trainer, consultant, and presenter within prominent community service organizations. My focus has now turned to developing my own training, consultancy, and presenting business. I am passionate about people with disability having a voice and leading meaningful inclusive lives in the community. My personal journey has taken me around Australia and the world. Highlights include lecturing in the United States and Canada. I love traveling and sharing my experiences, connecting with people and inspiring others to achieve their dreams regardless of labels or abilities.
I have had the pleasure and honor of knowing and co-presenting with Rosemary Crossley and the late Anne McDonald - both pioneers of FCT in Australia and fierce advocates for people without functional speech and I share Anne’s belief that “Communication falls into the same category as food, drink, and shelter…it is essential for life. Without communication, life becomes worthless”.
